How to Choose

Pick the layout. Then come see how it lives.

A floor plan on paper does not tell you how a room feels at four in the afternoon when the light moves. We invite every family to walk the actual apartment they are considering, because the right plan for your parent depends on more than square footage.

What to think about before you tour

If your parent gets up to use the bathroom at night, the studio's open layout means a shorter, simpler walk than a larger plan with a separate bedroom. If your parent spends most waking hours in a chair near a window, the larger one-bedroom (Plan 04) gives more living-area room for the chair, the side table, the lamp, and the family dog at their feet. The choice is rarely about size. It is about how your parent uses a room.

Mobility matters. Smaller plans put the kitchenette, the bathroom, and the bed within ten or fifteen feet of each other. Larger plans give more space but require more walking. Both are fine; one is better for your specific parent.

Storage and personal belongings matter. The Residence unit (Plan 03) has a foyer and a full kitchen with washer-dryer, which fits residents bringing more belongings or who want to keep cooking on their own. The Studio fits residents who are simplifying.

Light matters. The building's three stories all face the same way; we can show you which apartments get morning sun and which get afternoon sun, and which face the street vs. the gardens. A day at Sterling Meadows looks different from an apartment that faces the painters' portico than from one that faces the courtyard.

Cost matters too. Each plan has its own monthly rate, and care needs are billed separately on top of the apartment fee. Read our guide to what's included in a Kentucky monthly fee for a plain breakdown of what apartment cost covers and what level-of-care add-ons mean.

Questions worth asking on the tour

  • Which floor is this apartment on, and where is the elevator?
  • Where does the natural light come in, morning and afternoon?
  • How far is the dining room and the activity space from this door?
  • What is the closest emergency pull cord and pendant range?
  • Can my parent bring this specific piece of furniture?
  • When was this apartment last renovated, and is anything pending?

Frequently Asked

Practical questions about the apartments.

What square footage are the Sterling Meadows floor plans?

Sterling Meadows has four floor plans ranging from 404 sq ft (Studio) to 643 sq ft (One Bedroom Larger), plus a 628 sq ft Residence unit for independent living. Plan availability changes; current openings are confirmed on tour.

Can residents bring their own furniture?

Yes. Apartments are unfurnished by default. Residents bring their own furniture, art, rugs, and personal belongings. We provide a furniture-fitting consultation if you want one. The goal is for the apartment to feel like home, not a hospital room.

Do all apartments have private bathrooms?

Yes. Every apartment has a private full bathroom with a seated shower, grab bars, and an emergency pull cord. There are no shared bathrooms at Sterling Meadows. The pendant call system is available in every apartment as well.
